The program which took place at. 10 a. m. was very successful, every part was well rend-erel rend-erel and in a most suitable manner. At one o'clock in the afternoon a dance was given for the little tots and following follow-ing that came horse races, foot races and an interesting game of ball. The married men played the single boys, the latter coming out a little behind in the last innings. The day wound up with a grand ball in the evening. j On the 5th more horse races and foot races were the games, both being very interesting. Our successful little band several pretty musical selections. The crowd again gathered at the ballground waiting patiently to see the single boys come out lead in the gambling game of baseball. Some very good playing was done, you bet, and the married men j brought the sweat to the surface in order to make the tallies roll in. We I have the boys that will stand at,head of , the baseball teams in Emery county. With three nights d incingjind two days celebrating we will let the 4th of July go by feeling satisfied to see the 1913 celebration go into history. , Archie Trajy, Mervin Lowry and wife of Helper, and Ray Herring, formerly of Ferron, came down to play for the grand ball Saturday evening. They furnished some fine music and it was highly appreciated. C-ll again, Helper. j The little child of Mr. and Mrs. Singleton Single-ton has been quite ill a couple of days this week. Little Roma is a sweet child and we do hope that she js much on ihe improve. Mrs. C. K. Jensen is suffering much pain. As she was on her way to the cellar her foot slipped, throwing her against the c rner of the step. It ws feared at first that she had 'broken several ribs but, all good luck, she had only bruised nerself. We hope the sister is improving rapidly. We as a people have suffered with the heat the past week and we are wishing : every day for some rain. We would , then be much more comfortable. i Mr. Frank Behling of Logan is a guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Behling. He was welcomed at the Nelson home where a dainty little dinner had b"?n prepared. He leaves Thursday and we hope he is satisfied with Emery county , conditions. Our friend, Evelyn Lowry, left town for Salt Lake after the holidays. ' We would correct the impression gained in our last issue concerning the : death of Mrs. Kelson. It was ihe mother of Mr. Sopnus Nelson i-is'.e?l of the wife, who passed away. |
