Thank you for allowing us to continue providing your family with clean, quality waterthis year. In order to maintain a safe and dependable water supply we sometimes needto make improvements that will benefit all of our cus- tomers. These improvements are sometimes reflected as rate structure adjustments. Thank you for understanding. This year we completed a one million-doHa- r project This project consisted of two one million-gallo- n storage tanks, and about three miles of ten-inc- pipeline. Kanab now has h five million gallons of storage. In June and July there was a time when we were turning over the water in our tanks in one day, now we have two days of water in storage. In 1998 Kanab City produced 447,470.200 gallons of water for public use. Some people may be more vulnerable to contaminants in drinking water than the general population. persons such as persons with cancer undergoing chemotherapy, persons who have undergone organ transplants, people with HIVAIDS or other immune system disorders, some elderly, and infants can be particularly at risk from infections. These people should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers. EPACDC guidelines on appropriate means to lessen the risk of infection by Cryptosporidium and other microbiological contaminants are available from the Safe Drinking Water Hotline Immuno-compromis- (800-426-479- ed 1). Please call our office you have if questions. We at Kanab City work around the dock to provide top quality water to every tap. Wa ask that all our customers help us protect our water sources, which are the heart of our community, our way of life, and our childrens future. Published in the Southern Utah News on May 1 2, 1999.
