The Board decided they would like a scheduling calendar to be kept which would allow other entities an opportunity to use the facility. Travel Council member Ellen Lamb voiced her full support of ForsytheKaufmans proposal and apologized for the lack of a quorum. Those present were obviously in favor of revolving art displays, with their only reservations being the funds that had been requested and locking up the use of the building for each month. They offered open support by asking the duo to return in January when discussion with the board and a vote would be possible. Casebolt addressed the Board by asking that they make a comment of the direction that they thought the Travel Council should take in 1999. The Board stated that they felt it is imperative that contacts be kept with the overseas market. Council member Coleman stated, We have worked hard to make those contacts and it is important that we keep those doors open. She also stated that the Travel Council needed to be targeting Kane County as a destination area as well. Casebolt then presented those board members present with the 1999 Marketing Plan. Some of those areas include; 1) continued presence in Europe, 2) work closely with Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce 3) make grant applications where possible, 4) spend only as needed, 5) broaden data bases for email and film commission correspondence, 6) work more closely with select advertising and packaging op- portunities with Las Vegas, Mesquite and Salt Lake. |
