The three-da- y conference was themed A New Spin: Where We are Going and How We Get There and focused on new ways that film commissions can effectively serve both their local jurisdictions and the entertainment production industry representatives they seek to attract. Cineposium 98 provided multiple opportunities to learn firsthand from top industry leaders through keynote addresses and panel discussions on topics dealing with the utilization of emerging technologies in attracting industry and stimulating local production opportunities and the management of government, constituent and industry demands in an atmosphere of pressure and competition. Other topics dealt with marketing and public relations, industry growth and market ever-increasi- ng expansion. Conference participants included top independent film and television producers and directors, as well as experts in telecommunications, strategic planning, media relations and marketing.
