They played Moapa Valley Friday afternoon in a warmup practice game and lost 10-Everyone got to see action in this game. Cash Kloepfer, Sean Douglass and Trent Wade each went two innings on the mound. Kloepfer ripped a triple and Yates Wright a double to lead the hitters. Hank Walker, Mark count for four runs and held Millard to three runs on four hits. Kloepfer pitched most of the game, with relief help from Jerron Glazier. Juab shut out Kanab 11-- 0 in five innings in the second game. Not too many highlights in this game. Jones, Wright and Glazier garnered the only hits for Kanab. This pitted the Cowboys against Lincoln for third place. Kanab Stake Adult Basketball Champions The Orderville 1st Ward won the Kanab Stake Adult Basketball Tournament held recently. The action gets underway Friday eveningat5 p.m. at the Kanab Middle School with action continuing there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The rules for the Ruckus are as follows: 1- .Teams will consist offour players. Each post may have more than one team. 2. Games will last 20 minutes or the first team to 16 points. You must win by two points. 3. Games will be half-- court. 4. The Lynx were sailing along to what looked to be a rather easy victory in the first of two 7 inning contests, leading 12-- 6 going into the bottom of the seventh. Grand Canyon erupted for seven runs to win Kerby Black started on the mound and pitched into the seventh inningbefore brother Jared relieved for the final out. The Lynx regrouped and came out swinging in the second game and rolled to an easy 18-- 3 victory. Jared Black went the distance on the mound to pick up the win. Nate Black led the hitting barrage with a three-ru- n blast that coach Rob Henderson 13-1- 2. said was the longest ball he'd ever seen hit by a high school player. Rusty Ford added a two-ru- n homer, while Darren Tait went 5 for 5 at the plate. On Friday, March 8, the Lynx traveled to Hurricane to play a doubleheader against the 3A Tigers. Kerby Black started on the mound for Fredonia and pitched four near perfect innings, giving up only one hit.
