We urge anyone in our community who would like to help with Chamber projects to volunteer and attend a meeting of the club. Jim Kimball is working on the Wood Hill Road. He will be meeting with Marcie DeMillion ofthe BLM concerning the fence and streamlining plans. Hopefully we can get the surfacing needed to make a scenic route so all can enjoy Wood Hill. Jim also spoke with John Hiscock from Pipe Springs Monument, and he will be willing to come to the Chamber and speak. The Chamber would like to discuss Pipe Springs hours, and possibly get them to keep the facility open later during the summer to accommodate the tourists that stay all night in our town. If you are a resident and pay residential garbage, you can get in either landfill with household garbage, which includes limbs, grass and garden material, up to one pickup load. Anything over a pickup load is classed as commercial garbage and is charged $5.00 a load. A large trailer or small truck is classed as a 2 yard vehicle and will cost you $10. A 6 wheel bobtail truck is classed as 4 yards and will cost $20. A 10 wheeler is classed as an 8 yard and will cost $40, etc. Any and all tires are $1.00 per car tire and $2.00 per truck tire. We cannot take any refrigerators, deep freezes (freezers) or air conditioners that have freon in them. If they have a sticker on them stating the freon has been properly recovered, we can accept them. If there is no sticker, we cannot accept it, NO EXCEPTIONS. |
