Government agencies reaching out to local communities... informing them of legal procedures...asking their opinion... inprocesses. cluding them on decision-makin- g A unique, memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been forged between southern Utah counties, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Arizona Game and Fish Department, BLM, UDOT, and the Deptartment of Natural Resources over the release of the California Condor in the Marble Canyon area. Concerned parties have sat down, fletched out an agreement over the release that everyone can live with, and will soon be signing on the dotted line. one-of-a-ki- nd refreshing. You give something... I'll give something. It makes everyone feel that their input is valuable and important. The end result will be better because all issues have been addressed. With all the conflict between the government and rural communities over public lands, road right of ways and endangered species, the MOU is a big step in the right direction. Getting tough on drugs Dear Editor, A copy of this letter was sent to all the judges that handle drug cases for our communities. Please print this in your paper to let the residents in your know what we in Marysvale are doing to stop the com-muni- ty problem here. Dear Judge: The drug problem in Marysvale is continuing to escalate. The effect it has on the family and community as a whole is like a cancer that just keeps growing without proper treatment. The question asked is what is causingthis increased drug problem and what can we do about it as a community. Residents of Marysvale have g united to form an We are Committee.
