The sidewalk was narrow there because of cultivated bushes on the north and a telephone post and mailbox on the south. I decided to walk past my neighbors home before mounting the bike astride because I need lots of room when I have to double over like a jockey to ride a bicycle. In addition, there was a group of men near the corner of the house, and I didn't want to increase my nervousness in front of an audience. Before I had covered the distance, one of them raised his voice and asked me, Why don't you Another ride that bike? answered him in my stead, Oh, she can only ride her sidesaddle! Coconino County held their second Annual Recognition Banquet last Tuesday evening at the Coconino Center for the Arts building. We recognized County employees with 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service. We also recognized employees that retired in 1982. Mrs. Tom Jensen, better known as Sue, was recognized for her 17 years as Justice ol the Peace at Fredonia. Sue has given Coconino County outstanding service in those years. Also Mr. Cecil Cram of Fredonia was recognized for his service as Deputy Sheriff in Fredonia for many years. Coconino County has been fortunate in having employees such as these two retirees. We wish them great success and happiness in their future years. The Kanab Third Ward is sponsoring a Quartet Festival March 10 at 7 p.m. in the Kanab Stake Center.
