Show I SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS - Thursday, March 26, 1981 - Page Seven mai ALTON ORDERVILLE b I havent been a very good reporter this week - mainly because we have been caught up in the excitement of the Class 1A Tournament. We are very proud of these boys and their coach. The boys on the team from Glendale were Bobby Porter, Boyd Harris and Wes Brinkerhoff. There is a Victory Ball tonight, Tuesday, but I'll write about that next week. This tournament victory is the best news weve had in 75 years! Max and Mason Campbell are visiting off and on with their mother, Ila Mae, while working on a job in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Spencer moved their daughter, Callie, to St. George this past weekend where she will be attending school. Also going to Dixie this quarter is Tina Spencer. Mr. Elvin Spencer was here last week to visit his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Spencer. We hope Howard will be home from the hospital in Kanab soon. Bruce Jackson was here from Page to check on his mothers place and do a little spring cleaning and fixing up. Word was received by Mrs. Lucille Flynn that she is a grandmother again. Judy and Jerry Lynch are the proud parents of a baby girl born on March 17th. As of yet the new baby hasn't got a name, (they were plannin for a boy). Big sister Melinda is happy with the new addition. Mrs. Susan Sorbe created a little excitement up on the hill this past weekend. She and her brother, Russell, planned a surprise 25th wedding anniversary party for their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gayton Tullis. In attendance to this special party were Susan and Bill and family, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Tullis and family from Parowan, Mrs. Garneetta Mickleson from Parowan, Susan's grandmother, and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Orbon Hinton, from St. George, and of course the guests of honor, susan's parents from Parowan. Our Primary children have done it again. They participated in the Primary Sacrament meeting. The songs and talks were very loud and clear and the message of Families Can Be Together Forever was very pertinent. Another set of proud grandparents in Glendale this week are Mr. and Mrs. Marion Cox. Their daughter, Mary Lyn Scott of Cedar City has a new baby son born March 22. Two brothers and sisters and, of course, the daddy are waiting at home. I have not listed those who went to Provo to the tournament but we had a better than average attendance. When the boys came home Sunday Because of rising costs the afternoon, they were met by a Southwest Utah District police escort and good people Health Department is raising of Alton, Glendale, Orderville the cost of Septic Tank and Mt. Carmel. We met at Permits to $35.00 as of April 1, the high school for a short 1981. Also, a new fee schedule rally. The clouds are white and pufty and separated, quite without moisture but we are grateful for the storm that came last week. The view from my window is a repeat of the past two Sundays for there is still snow clinging to the tops of the ledges of White Mountain and to the shadowed north sides of the slopes. The ground is still damp from the last storm. We are grateful for so much more added to that in the higher mountains and what has soaked into the ground. IT IS SPRING, or hadn't you noticed.
