Health Director Lewis Garrett asked that Cook serve as the first officer to review the hearing unidentified business, which has had its license to sell tobacco yanked after suspension, leaving it to the health department to review the case. Garrett told Cook the review would not necessarily look at cutting the suspension, but would ensure the suspension was done properly and that nothing was overlooked. Cook, who said he has real interest in ensuring stores comply with the tobacco policy, said he would be happy to serve in the position, but made it clear he thought the position should rotate as needed, so he wouldnt be identified as the only hearing officer.
