Bush seeks BY TONI BUSSELBERC Clipper News Editor - BOUNTIFUL Internationally known soprano Celena Nelson Shafer will be the featured performer at a special Valentines Concert hosted Feb. 15 by Bountiful House Assisted Living, 79 East Center Street. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be served afterward. There is no charge to attend and everyone is welcome. Best dressed is encouraged. A 2002 winner of the Aria Award. Shafer is being recognized as one of the rising artists of her generation following standout as in Ismene performances Mozarts Mitridate with the Santa Fe Opera in the summer of 2001. She began the 2002-200- 3 season with her Lincoln Center debut in a concert performance of Aithra in Die Agyptische Helena with the American Symphony Orchestra. Since then she has appeared with Lyric Opera of Chicago. Performances are also scheduled with the Pittsburgh Opera, her debut in her home state with the Utah Opera and, later, the Phoenix Symphony, Opera Theatre of St. Louis and the San Francisco Symphony. In addition to performing throughout the United States over the past several years. Shafer has appeared in Nantes, France and London, England. Along with her ARIA Award, Shafer was a recipient of a 2000 Sara Tucker Study Grant from the Richard Tucker Foundation, and has received outstanding apprentice awards from the Santa Fe and Central City Operas.
