Show Taylor entertains crowd R view by JENNIFER DURCA JOURNAL. ART EDITOR Chad Taylor open d to an enthu ia tic crowd last night in the Randall L. As he p ranced out on the tagc in lu s black and white pimp hoes to a Nirvana song, [ was a bit skeptical, but as h began his r utine, my skepticism was replaced with enjoyment. H e began oH the bat with including the audience in hi routine, getting members to wave lighters, whoop like Arsenio, and do a group wave, all for his home video. Taylor's h ow was definitely college brand, with the typical fast food and ethnic related jokes. A the show went on, Taylor added juggling stunts and unicycling tricks, which were very entertaining. Taylor had fun with a wo-ycar-old audi ence member named Colin, who almost stole the how, and veered toward p p culture when he imper onated a Bart Simp on Pez dispenser. The hignli ht of t he how was when Taylor rode a unicycle, a really ta ll uni cycle, while Juggling to razor sharp knives and an apple-all while eating the apple. Taylor, who comes fro m Santa Monica, Calif., began performing at the age of 13 on the Venice Beach Boardwalk and his credits include Mr. Saturday Nigh t, the Tonight Show with fa y Leno, America's Funniest People, and more. The crowd really seemed to enjoy Tayl or and his wacky brand of humor. Including the audience into hi show as much as be did was certainly not a mistake. As Taylor put it, "See what happens when you have too much time on your Chad Taylor, last night's Starlight Club performer, impersonated a Bart Simpson hands?" Pez dispenser. Taylor's act pleased the audience in the Randall Theatre. Legends Page, Plant rock SLC similar to something at a Dead show-but more overtly religious.
