Bojak, a p ychology and physical education teacher at We t Jordan High chool, also spoke of the importance of his job. "I may be ju ta teacher," Bojak aid, "but Tam employed in the world's most important profession." H e went on to say, "Every on of us ha had a teacher or a mom or dad . "One of the key that I have with teaching and in life is that my studen t don't reaUy care how much I know until they know how much I car ," Bojak said. "That's not just with education-that' with life." Bojak aid that he very often a k people he meets about a favorite teacher they may have had and why. In an interesting commentary on the responses he has received he said, "In all the hundreds and hundreds of people I've asked, I've never heard the per on ay 'because the teacher was smart or intelligent or knew a lot.' "Albert Einstein a.id, 'It takes 11 po itives to change one negative thought,"' Bojak stated, emphasizing the underlying theme of his address-that the most success and best results can be achieved through positive affirmations, positive feedback, and having a positive attitude about all we do. "lt's only through change that we grow," said Bojak. So many times we have to let the past go so we can grow. If we don't, we get into our comfort zones. But you've got to take the chance. You've got to take the risk. And that's the thing that positive thinkers do." Influenza is a viral inf ction of the nose, throat, bronchial tube , and lungs that causes illness in people of all age . U ually the flu occurs in the U ·ted States from about Novembr to April. Symptoms include fever, chill , cough, and aching in your back, arm , and legs for three to five day . Although most people are ill for only a few days, some persons have a much more serious illness and may need ho pitalizati n . Flu is not usually life threatning to healthy individuals. The vaccine is recommended for use of people who e health is comprised in some way, including those who are elderly and tho e who have chronic diseases, as well as care providers for the ill. Also on the list of persons who probably would benefit from receiving the vaccine are those in schools and colleges if outbreaks would cause major disruptions of school activities. The cost of the vaccine is $7 per immunization. Pneumonia vaccines are a.lso avaiJable at a cost of $12 per immunization. The vaccine is needed once every 8-10 years.
