Show College Bowl • goes to wire Review By ALICIA BROOKS JOUR AL STAFP WRITER Kappa Delta Pi was the winning team in Wednesday night's College Bowl competition in the Student Center. Th Bowl,a question and answer game much like the popular Trivial Pursuit, was part of Homecoming Week festivities . The game consisted of four rounds, two semi-finals and the championship. During the first round KDP played Alli' team. KDP was leading tor most of the round . When Alli' team managed to l ap onto the coreboard, ther wa much celebrating, but despite the valiant attel}lpt made by Alli' team, KDP won. Round two aw Olefinoilmakers face off against Laqu tta' team. Only when Laquetta Carpenter correctly an wercd the lycra question did they score. Round two went to the Olefinolimakers. In round three,it was DEX vs. Jamie Shaw's team. DEX wa leading through most of the round. Suddenly Jamie's team leaped ahead by 15 points. In the final seconds of the game Jamie's team was shut down and DEX won by five points. In round four Staff's team took on the Intellectually Challenged. Although a slow moving round, Intellectually Challenged managed to win. During the first semi-final round, KDP went head to head with Olefinoilmakers. The Olefinoilmakers seemed to lose their powers of speech. In the end the victory went to KDP. In the second semi-final round, Dex met with the Intellectually Challenged. When time was called the game was tied. rt was decided that a toss-up question would be asked and the first team to answer correctly would walk off with the $40 prize. Annual homecoming parade to 'spotlight' SUU More than 25 of the 52 floats entered in the parade are from SUU's Clubs and Organizations and Lincoln County. Last year's parade was canceled due to snowy weather, said Heybome, but some of the trophies will be used this year. The high school bands will receive plaques for second and third places and a trophy for first . Clubs and Organizations will receive their awards at Monday's C&.O meeting. Judging cri.teria includes creativity, neatness and how well the float fits with the theme, saidHeyborne.
