Show i Sun Chronicle Thursday, March first grcdsrs 1, 1973 M ir.cke, design new dresses ROY - The House of i IPhone Dior might well have ranked in second place if their fashions had been shown at a recent show at Valley mini-fashio- n View Elementary School. No French designer could have had a more original fabric design for the 1973 new look than the pattern created by some 70 first graders. White cotton muslin was purchased, and marked into blocks. Each first grader was allowed to use permanent inked felt tip pens, and his own creativity to fill the block he was allowed to paint. When the blocks were completed, the teachers, Miss Kathy Mrs. Tamra Lofgreen, Schenk, and Mrs. Julie Heywood, became fashion creators and turned the fabric into original creations. They chose to wear their new creations on Feb. 14, and such an appropriate day, as each teachers heart was filled with pride in the priceless fabric, and each student felt the glow of an art project NO FASHION salon could have presented originally designed fabrics to equal that produced at Valley View Elementary School by the first grade students. The n show were the teacher.
