| Show THE BELIEF SOCIETY SOCIAL denever the relief society does a thing it is done right was amply attested last thursday afternoon aheu the stake slake board and ward officers entertained all the charter members of the organization in box elder stake as well as all the ladies who could be persuaded to turn out upon the urgent invitation of the relief society workers the festivities were staged at the first ward amusement hall and the tabernacle at the first named place a banquet was served at 2 three long tables tables extending the full length of the hall were laid and places arranged for about hundred those who could not be seated at the tables were made comfortable under the trees outside and refreshments were passed around to them place cards with a spray of roese thru them were used the menu menu consisted of hot peas and new potatoes pickles sandwiches cake fruits ice cream and strawberries lemonade and warm drinks and there was enough tor for everybody with the proverbial baskets tul ful left over during the banquet miss jessie whitaker made sweet music on the pialo piano and after everybody had been served right the company adjourned to the tabernacle where a program of speeches songs and readings w was as rendered at the meeting in the tabernacle a roll call of the charter members was made and about eighty ladles ladies answered by arising to their feet each member was decorated with a badge suitably inscribed bed the unction function was graced by the presence of president emmeline Emmel lne B BI wells vella sister annie wells cannon and sister emily S richards of the general board and sister eliza S dunford of salt lake city who was the first secretary of the organization in frigham city ty there were present also many hi mothers others from out 0 of town t ft wards and the affair was a grand success I 1 bringing bring ink as it did cheer to the hearts of chose those faithful sisters who have borne the heat of the day |
