Rickys father, Layton Foster, was laid off from his construction job recently as a result of bad weather, and Mrs. Foster has taken a leave from her position at City Market to stay near her son in Denver. A small insurance policy carried by Mrs. Fosters employer will cover some of the expenses, but will not cover the majority of the expensive third-degre- e Russell treatments. Mrs. Foster, the total for the critical care Ricky has received has reached more than $30,000. That figure doesnt include doctor bills, she said. I dont have any idea just what its all going to cost in the long run. A group of neighbors have banded together to try and ease some of the financial burden Ricky and his parents face. Organized by Judy Wright and Tony Bruer, the group has collected donations totalling more than $1,100 at last count, and according to Mrs. Wright, the gifts are continuing to come operation. Doctors are encouraged by Rickys response to the grafts, and according to Janiece Foster, the boys Ricky is alert and looking better. He knows we are here. Mrs. mother, Foster said. Judge Richard C. Davidson handed down the sentence after the guilty plea was entered by Dale Sumerville, 41. Sumerville was arrested by the Utah Highway Patrol on Dec. 14 following an incident in Emery County. Emery County Sheriffs Department Capt. D. F. Owens said that Sumerville abducted a Farmington, N.M., woman on U.S. Highway 6 and took her at knifepoint to a remote location in Emery County where he assaulted her. According to the captain, Sumerville then left the women who was able to contact the highway patrol. She was transported by ambulance to Castleview Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released. Sumerville was arrested by the UHP in the early afternoon that same day. He was transported to the Emery County Sheriffs Office and was arraigned in circuit court on Dec. 15 where he waived preliminary hearing and was bound over to district court. KNT Tires, west of Price, reported that a truck parked in the company compound had been broken into over the weekend. Tire repair tools valued at $675 were taken in the theft. Robert William Frauenberger, 31, Colorado, was arrested on outstanding warrants issued in Kemmerer, Wyo., after being stopped for speeding near Hiawatha. Sheriffs Deputy Marshall Drolc discoverd the warrants, issued for allegedly distributing cocaine, after running the suspects license on the national crime computer system.
