Show T 8A Sun Advocate, Price, Utah Wednesday, December 22, 982 1 P.E. facility Randolph is optimistic despite funding delay When the special session of the Utah legislature closed on Thursday, it looked as though the College of Eastern Utah would not be getting the long-awaite- physical d education building. However, according to CEU President James R. Randolph, college officials were left with a feeling of optimisim that the bond will be passed when the legislature reconvenes on Jan. 10. Randolph said the optimism stems from the fact that when the Senate cut the bonding priority list to about $30 million, it was comfortably passed by a 22 to 5 vote. Just before the session closed, the House tabled any action concerning the building bond because of lack of sufficient time for discussion. If the legislature does not shuffle the priority list, CEUs building will remain in excellent shape for being funded as we are the fifth priority of the possible 10 that will be funded if the bond passes both the House and Senate in the Randolph January session, i said. Sen. Cary Peterson, said the state building bond proposal would be the first order of business at the Legislatures regular session. He promised committee hearings to determine critical priorities for possible bonding then. Majority leader Sen. Karl N. Snow Jr., said the lack conof support came from concern siderable remaining over priorities for construction. He said in a limited special session it is difficult to arrive at a concensus.
