Show Tuesday, May 24, 1988 Sun Advocate, Price, Utah 11 A Play tells of pioneers Durrant fourth grade produces musical on togetherness Going Forward Together, a tuneful and spirited musical with both original and traditional music and dances was presented last week by the fourth grade at Durrant School. Parents, friends and the other Durrant students attended the two performances. Written and directed by Diane Morley, one of the fourth grade teachers, the play presented the message of coming together, working together, building strength and unity and helping family and friends go forward together in the future. Various sections, all of which were introduced by three little bees, depicted pioneers coming across the ocean; people who came later by train; explorers such as Father Escalante; mountain men; Brigham Young, the colonizer; and finally the space exporers. We, or our forebears, are immigrants and pioneers. When she was seven her father was asked to bring his family to Castle Valley. She remembered the very cold trip across the mountains and her mother wrapping her feet in rags to try to keep them warm.
