The tuneful operetta, also will be The Bat, called Community Theaters major production for the year. The lawyer, Dr. Blind, is played by Corey Ewan. Although the program lists this character, the owner of a sumptuous villa, as a prince, the role is often taken by a woman. Johnson, Marc A. The light and frothy action, part 'of which takes place at a fancy dress ball and another part in jail, is interspersed with beautiful music. The graceful, lilting music, with many lovely melodies, gives the operetta its most enduring claim to fame. Die Fledermaus, is the most successful operetta of Johann Strauss, who was called the Waltz King during his lifetime. The operetta became a hit soon after Strauss composed it Terry Zook and Ann Shallcross are assistants to the director. A large backstage cast is assisting. Joe Martinez is in charge of lighting. Jan Smith is costumer. Diane and Don Rock are in charge of properties. The house manager is Jeanette McAlpine. Stage manager is John Egan. Egan was also set designer. Janet Laws is in charge of programs. Publicity has been handled by Arva Smith, Leigh Olsen and Miss Zook. Accompanists are Dorothy Bunnell and David Wilson, Huntington. The crew which built the sets included Todd Curtis, Miss Shallcross, Ann Kelly, Michelle Sellers, Leonard Miller and Miss Zook. Cost of tickets is $3 and they are available at the CEU business office or at Oliveto Furniture & Appliance Co. JTPA offers summer youth work program A summer youth program for the Southeastern Utah District, that comprises Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties will be conducted this summer, according to the Southeastern Utah Job Training Partnership Act Private Industry Council chairperson, Seretia Snow, and JTPA program director Harry Mangus. Tentative plans call for the program to begin in early June work training for a federal at the wage of period $3.35 per hour. The number of hours per week will vary in each respective county but none will be less than 24 hours per week. Applications are available at the Association of Governments Job Training Office and at the Price, Castle Dale, Moab and Blanding Job Service offices. Additional applications will be placed in area junior high and high schools within the district and in Emery County at the ten-we- ek from PIC Stanton, Seretia Snow or James Courthouse and members Gerald Bar-torel- li. 14 Applicants must be between and 21 years of age and must meet eligibility guidelines pertaining to family income and documented other requirements. Jobs and types of jobs will be in a variety of skills and classes for both boys and girls in this age bracket and may be in both public and private sectors.
