An open house will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednes day July tral at the new Kearns Censtake building located at 22 LDS 5850 So. Cougar Lane ( 4800 West. ) All members and in the community are being invited to the event, hosted by the stake presidency, Richard McCune, president and counselors Floyd Timothy and Leo Florence. Displays and presentations will be made throughout the evening on the purpose of various church organizations including the Relief Society, priesthood organizations, Boy Scouts, Primary and Young Men and Young Women. Musical numbers will be performed by members from each ward and MAGNA. short movies will be presented throughout the evening. Refreshments will be served. The new stake center is built of red brick and follows the smaller design now in use by the church with 19,000 square feet of floor space, said spokesman Alan Hansen. It is built for efficient use of space and is energy conscious, he said. We want to invite everyone in the community to visit the open house and get acquainted with our programs, he added. The building will house the Kearns 36th and 37th wards, said Hansen. Citizen Center here. Seniors will take an imaginary trip to Dodge City, Kansas and listen to country western music played by Don Petty. Even the grub that will be served will have a western flavor, complete with chuckwagon beef stew and pan fried potatoes, week-ol- d beans, trail cobbler and corn bread. Most Fridays there is a special program around lunch time, with ceramics, pool and bingo. This weeks meals will offer sweet and sour chicken over rice, sliced beets, applesauce and a wheat roll on Monday; a Mexican plate with two tacos, refried beans, Spanish rice, fresh fruit and vanilla pudding on Tuesday; barbecued chicken, buttered corn, whole parsleyed potatoes, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and whole wheat bread on Wednesday; a cold plate with tuna pasta salad, cottage cheese, tomato wedges, peaches and a brownie on Thursday. The center will be closed on Friday for the July 24th holiday.
