Hatcher of Los Angeles, California, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Tana Michele, to Edward T. Broderick 111, son of Edward T. Broderick, Jr., Reading, MA. and the late Pauline L. Broderick. The children of Lila Nerdin are hosting an open house in honor of her 80 th birthday. The event will be held Saturday, July 18th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Solomon, 3940 So. 4000 West, West Valley, between the hours of 4 : 00 and 6 00 p.m. Miss Hatcher, an alumnus of San Diego State University, is affiliated with Delta Gamma sorority. Mr. Broderick graduated from Northeastern University and receiv-- ' ed an MBA from the Wharton : School. An announcement party was given in Reading, MA. to make known the, future marriage. An October wed-- , ding is being planned in Los Altos, California. Michael Palmer Homecoming Michael Palmer is returning home after serving an LDS mission to Geneva, Switzerland. His homecoming meeting will be 'held in the Murray 11th ward, 5750 Nena Way, at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 19th. He is the son of Marjorie and Gale L. Palmer, the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burgon, Murray and Farrel Palmer of Murray and the nephew of the late Jim Burgon. An open house will be held at 5774 Nena Way at 5:00 p.m. on July 19th. Scott M. Festin Scott M. Festin has accepted a call to serve an LDS mission to Barcelona, Spain and will enter the training center on July 29th. Traci Gamer Will Wed Rick Kemp On July 17th His farewell meeting will be held in the Taylorsville 18th ward, 4310 So. 3200 West, at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, July 26th. The future missionary is the son of Kathy and Dan Festin and they are inviting friends and family to visit at their home, 3298 Nielsen Way, on Wednesday, July 22nd. Traci Garner and Rick Kemp, both of Sandy, will exchange their wedding vows in a double ring ceremony at the home of the brides parents, tomorrow, Friday the 17th of July. The newlywed couple will be honored at a garden reception following the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Van L. Garner, and a graduate of Utah Technical College as a licensed beautician. The groom is the son of Keith (Skip; Kemp, West Jordan, and Billie L. Reed of Reno, Nevada. He Mrs. Nerdin is the mother of three children; Lloyd and Claudia Nerdin, Ray and Ilene Solomon and Glen and Angie Nerdin. He is a graduate of Granger high, has earned his Eagle Scout and Duty To God awards. He was on the yearbook staff at Granger. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Festin, both of Salt Lake. graduated from Jordan high. Attending the bride as maid of honor will be her sister, Terri Garner, and the bridesmaids will be the grooms sisters, Cindy Hansen, Debi Reed, Stephanie Laub, Shauna Bodtcher and Brenda Jorgensen. Heather and Marcy McDonald will be at the guest book. Best man duties will be performed by Rick Raddon and the ushers are Troy Garner, Mike Pablito and Curtis McDonald. The newlyweds will honeymoon in California and then make their home in Murray. The future missionary is the son of Ross and Karen Derbidge, 5661 Bree Street, Bennion and the grandson of John A. Derbidge and Beatrice (Mrs. Stephen C. ) Marchant, both of Salt Lake. He was senior class president, Sterling Scholar for music, Boys State Representative and of Kearns high graduating class of 1986. He attended Utah State University where he was a member of the Sunburst Singers, the Glenn Miller Singers and a member of the Jazz band.
