The 1985 rate of $15 per pavilion, no matter how large the group using it, has been increased to $20 for groups less than 249 people, for groups from 250 to 499 people the fee has been upped to $50, while groups of 500 or more people will be charged a whopping $100 substantially more than the $15 fee which would have been paid under last years rate schedule. As in previous years, rental fees for buildings are based on the type of event conducted there, with regular events charged $25, weddings assessed $65 and commercial events charged $125. Another policy changed announced last week by the Recreation Division now requires all payments for 1986 will January WEST VALLEY CITY NOTICE OF ZONING HEARING f 'kY CJ V rentals to be made before final reservations will be considered confirmed and approved. Individuals may still make a park or building reservation by telephone, but rental fees must be Vz paid within 14 days following the initial telephone contact. According to Gary Swensen, department superintendent, the new fees and policies were arrived at after surveying other communities in the area to see what their rates are. The last time the county raised rates for park facilities was in 1981. Recreation officials will begin taking telephone reservations at 8 a.m. today (Thursday). Those desiring to make reservations may call GRANITE PARK. People planning to use county parks in 1986 may need to save up a few more dollars. Last week the County Commission approved a fee increase for rentals of the pavilions in Salt Lake County parks and also increased rental rates on all building rentals. The Recreation and Parks Division proposed the fee increase to cover the actual costs of cleaning and maintaining the park pavilions and buildings. As recommended, rates for use of park pavilions have been raised - and raised substantially in some cases.
