Show Thursday, December 5B THE GREEN SHEET 20, 1984 Schools Tonight - Kennedy Students KJHS Celebrating Season KEARNS. Students involved in performing arts classes at Kearns junior high will present their annual Christmas program at 7 oclock tonight (Thursday ) Titled Winter Wonderland, the show will include the school orchestra, band, dance club, drama and chorus. Band members will open the show with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, followed by the chorus Black & Decker, Z7 Ctatouw TOOL SALE with its version of Jazz Gloria. drama students will perform The Little Match Girl and dance classes will present two Christmas numbers. The second half of the program will feature the orchestra, chorus and second period advanced drama class in a production of A Christmas Carol. The cheerleaders will present a dance number and members of the dance class will perform the shows finale. First period advanced A shorter version of the program was presented yesterday for elementary school students in the area and will be given tomorrow morning for the Kearns junior high student body. Admission to the evening program is 50 cents for students, $1 adults, or $2 for a family ticket. Proceeds will be donated to charity, a tradition with the performing arts department, with this years donation going to the Primary Children's Medical Center psychiatric unit, said dance teacher Helen Brown. Teachers involved in the project include Mrs. Brown, dance; Kristine Fink, drama; Mary K. Davis, band; Gay Mansfield, orchestra; Richard Steadman, chorus. Brad Francis, art teacher, designed the scenery. He and his elf helpers will come around to your classrooms to wish you a merry Christmas and give you a special holiday treat. Also, Kristen Ferguson, Matt Fields, Tammy Gill, Shauna Grant, Mike Marsh, Tim Hultquist and Bryan Syddall each placed first. Dennis Arns, Howard Mendes, Kip Tate, John Sullivan and Stan Hardy took second. Terrol Payne took third and fourth place was won by Cameron DeVries. Our wrestlers will meet with Cyprus at Granger today (Thursday). Once again, Grangers basketball team has done well. The team played in the Green Sheet Classic at Cyprus and defeated Taylorsville on Thursday. Although the Lancers werent as successfull against Kearns on Saturday, two team members received special honors for their performances.. Mike Wilding and Derrick Bolton were chosen to be on the alltournament team. The team played well and finished second in the tournament. Our basketball teams will play tomorrow at West Jordan.
