Show mWEST More Than 250 Are Needed Prop Person Has Work Cut Out Rehearsals for the popular comedy You Cant Take it With You are under way at Taylorsville high. Russell Johnson is directing the TAYLORSVILLE. play, assisted by student director Jeff Orton. The play will be presented in the schools little theater for five nights beginning Feb. 27, with curtain time each performance at 7:30 p.m. Props for the production are being assembled by Liz Birkholz. When originally produced on Broadway, more than 700 props were used in the VIEW VALLEY Thursday, Feb. The play introduces the audience to an eccentric but loving family with a mother who writes, a For THS Play play, the director observed. This years New York revival used more than 400. The Taylorsville production will employ between 200 and 250 props, he noted, a big project for Miss Birkholz. Since the play is set in the 1930s, those props are not easy to come by, Mr. Johnson remarked. Included are an old typewriter, telephone, Tiffany lamps, printing press and an REDWOOD erector set - which was extremely hard to find in 1984, he said. Also needed was a candy dish made from a skull, which has been made by a student in ceramics, he said.
