Removal Of Snow Is Goal i In conditions here due to normal walkways still being blocked with snow, according to Cpl. Ron Wall of the County Sheriffs Dept. The combination of heavy December-Januarsnowfall, plus an extended cold spell, has created d hazards all over town, with sidewalks forcing people to walk in the street, Wall pointed out. Most importantly, children who walk to and from schools often have to use the road out of necessity, and the hazard factor is considerably increased for those youngsters who walk to and from school in the dark . Wall said. . . due to split sessions, A county ordinance requires all public walkways to be cleaned off by 8 a.m. on the day after a storm, Wall pointed out. However, with the population mass and the lack of manpower within the law enforcement division, it is practically impossible to enforce this ordinance, he said. For this reason we are asking for the publics help in this matter and requesting that they make a special effort to clear a path in front of their individual homes so that our children may get to and from school safely, he added.
