Admitting that Hillcrest is a good team, Coach Bob Snell commented, Were a better team than that, but when you quit before it starts, you dont look very good. Snells major concern is that the two squads are likely to meet again, perhaps in the state tournament. A Taylorsville loss to Highland left Granger with a share of the division lead, however. Hillcrest jumped on Woodard for seven runs in two innings, the most damage being done by walks - 10 in all before LeRoy Woodard took over on the mound. The big inning was the fourth when Hillcrest scored eight runs. Ironically, the hardhitting Hillcrest squad had only two extra-bas- e hits. Granger, which scored twice in the second, had a run in and the bases loaded with nobody out, but a double play killed the potential rally. Woodard, Joy, Larsen and OMalley had base hits in the inning.
