Show PTA At honor for January . Receiving the bronze palm was William Brown. Eagle awards were presented to Matt Durfey and Gordon Jackson. Scott Griffith advanced to the rank of Life scout. Scout awards were given to Adam Garrick, Troy Mann, Roger Griffiths and Clifford Carty. High point winner for December was Kearns 4th ward. The ward was also winner for 1982; Kearns 4th ward, troop 225, had a total of 214 points for the year. The troop was awarded a lantern for its Pioneer Hosts Assembly GRANGER. The Pioneer elemenwill hold a Reflections assembly at 2 oclock today (Thurs- tary PTA day). All student entries in the contest will be recognized and certificates and awards presented, according to PTA president Etsuko Freeman. Theme of the contest is Life in these United States. Entries were accepted in art, literature and music. A general PTA meeting will be held at 7 oclock tonight. A critical issues discussion on emergency evacuation - sending children home safely in an emergency situation -will be held. PTA founders day will also be observed, Mrs. Freeman said. A mother and son program will be held on Feb. 17. Dinner will be served at 6 : 30 p.m. and a program by the Utah Travel Council will begin at u II On Saturday, Sunday Tickets for the event will be sold today (Thursday) and tomorrow. Carl Rasmussen has been appointed chairman of the Wagon Wheel Boy Scout district. He will serve the area including St. Francis Xavier, Kearns First Baptist church and all troops in Kearns and Bennion LDS stakes. Rasmussen has served as stake scout director, as a scoutmaster for 16 years, assistant district commissioner, roundtable director and has been involved in Boy Scout training for 20 years, serving on the wood badge staff, established wood badge courses in the great Salt Lake Council, originated and organized the first Kearns North stake Scout Circus in 1960 and has served on the Silver Beaver selection committee. She has served as social relations teacher in Relief Society and as ward Young Women president. Mrs. Farrimond has held positions in all the ward organizations, and in stake primary and Young Women organizations. She is the wife of Robert Farrimond and has four children and one grandson. Betsey Glessner will serve as first counselor in the stake Primary. She and her husband Richard have four children. She has served previously as ward Primary President and in the Young Women and Relief Society, and has worked with the Head Start program. KEARNS. Six women have received new positions in Kearns North stake. Kim Hathorn will serve as homemaking counselor in the stake Relief Society. She has served previously as a primary counselor and chorister and as ward activities chairman. She and her husband Scott have four children. Sustained to the Young Women presidency were Janice Adams, president; Marta Black, first counselor; Joanne Allen, second counselor and Joy Farrimond, secretary. Mrs. Adams has served previously as sports coach, adviser and activity committee chairman and served a mission to Uruguay and Paraguay. She is the wife of Mark Adams. Will Hold Conference GRANGER. W. Mack Lawrence, regional representative, will be the visiting authority during sessions of conference in Granger West stake Saturday and Sunday. A priesthood leadership meeting will be held at 4 p.m., with an adult session at 7 oclock. During that session, a returned missionary chorus will provide music. A meeting for youth of the stake will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday. The general session will begin at 10 oclock when a Young Womens chorus will sing.
