Student Kim Giles said the latest polls, conducted Friday, asked residents if they felt teachers should be given police authority to give students tickets for smoking at school. Numbers will include South medleys from Pacific and Paint Your Wagon. Dale Sandusky will provide guitar accompaniment for a western medley. Enforcement- Volunteer Aid Sought For Soccer League A TAYLORSVILLE. law enforcement training session will be offered at Utah Technical College beginning Feb. 2. The training program for part-tim- law e enforcement officers or those seeking training in law enforcement is a cooperative effort between Utah Tech and the Utah Peace Officers Training Academy, a division of the Utah Department of Public Safety. Clyde Palmer, training supervisor for the law enforcement training academy at 4525 So. 2700 West, said the UTC onFeb.2at5:30p.m. class is geared to provide basic training for category two law enforcement officers, ofsuch as part-tim- e ficers, jailers, reserve officers or adult probation and parole officers. Though classes will be held at Utah Tech, instruction in such areas as federal and state law, traffic law, physical fitness, first aid, communication and firearms will be provided by training supervisors from the police academy. Cost for the program will be $175 per student for the Minimum basic training is provided through the academy for all law enforcement officers in the state except those in Salt Lake, who have their own program, Palmer said.
