Show TV8—THEHERALD, Provo, Utah, Monday, December 3, 1979 Up Front: ‘Star Trek’ toOpen in Provo Sans Dolby By ROD COLLETT Herald Staif Reporter For all those- “Star Trek’ fans in thetelevision audience, there will soon be more reason to say the names of Spock, Kirk, Bones, Sulu and Scotty with reverence whenthey will again embark on another mission to another galaxy as “Star Trek-The Movie” opens Friday at the Fox Theater in Provo. The original series, which hit television in the late 1960s, has become almost a craze and groupsof “‘trekkies’” have sprung up across the country — almost a cult amongits followers. Producers of the film, including writer Gene Roddenberry, managed to get the entire crew (the stars) back for the movie version whick should please viewers to no end. Even Leonard Nimoy, who vowed to never wear a pair of ravages of time have sparred to some degree the looks uf the crew of Star Trek. Of course, it’s always amazing how the science of Hollywood can cover up the 10 years which have passed since the the film’s dolby sound recording.
