Show MAKUrt 28, 1V84 Kaysville Davis Families Needed KIcws For Foreign Students LAYTON - Families are needed to host international high school students for the -- 1984-8- 5 school year in a program sponsored by the American Intercultural Student Exchange (A1SE), according to AISE Area Representative, Leslie C. Stitt. THE STUDENTS range in age from 15 to 18 and come from countries throughout Europe, South America and the Far East. Criddle, and Mrs. Sylvia Fielding have enjoyed a vacation trip this past ten days of the Southern LDS Temples including Arizona, up the coast have their own spending money and medical insurance. Other from Boulder. guests included Michael Jones who also enjoyed a birthday on SIXTEEN cadets from CHS flew to Denver early Friday morning. After visiting Lowry AFB, they bussed to Greeley for evening practice and activities with the AFROTC Detachment at UNC. The drill competition lasted all day Saturday. Sunday the Cadets visited the Air Force Academy where they met with former Clearfield students Walter Jurek and Robert Morrell. Cadet Richard Garner commanded the 12 member Flight Thursday, and the couples caughters, TilTani, Tegan and Taylee, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn B. Niederhauser and daughter and son, Jill and Nathan. Although no financial remuneration will be made to the host families, they can take a charitable contribution deduction of $50 per month on their income tax. THE INTERNATIONAL students will begin arriving in the United States in August, 1984. They will attend the local high school in their host families area for the entire school year and return to their home countries in late June, 1985. AISE is a tax exempt education organization. It is officially designated by the non-profi- t, 544-102- Dredge Honored At the commemoration of the Relief Societys 142nd anniversary held in Salt Lake City on Saturday, March 17, Mrs. Beth Dredge was honored by Barbara Smith, general president of the LDS Relief Society organization, for her many years of service in the organization. MRS. DREDGE was pre- sented with a certificate in appreciation for exemplary service and a gift. She has been involved in Relief Society work for the past 29 years, having served as an education counselor in the ward twice and six years as education counselor in the stake. She was ward Relief Society president five years and a cultural refinement class teacher six years. IN ADDITION, she has been a visiting teacher 21 years as well as both ward and stake chorister. Mrs. Dredge has played the piano to accompany vocalists and groups over the years for church, funerals and civic functions, too numerous to mention and is still extending this service to all when needed.
