He served in the branch presidency in Jamestown, New York. SURVIVING are his widow of Layton; one son and one daughter, James M. Remington, Heber City; Shirley M. Moore, Layton; eight grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Also surviving is one MERRITT JAY REMINGTON km p Merritt Jay Remington, 82, of 2030 W. Mark, Layton, died Monday, March 19, 1984 at his home of pneumonia. Hue WAS born Feb. 8, 1902 the township of Hanover, New York, a son of Frank 0. and Jessie Ethel Vickery Remington. On June 16, 1928 he married Elberta A. Walsh in Randolph,-NeYork. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 8. ill !942. ?HE LIVED in New York until 1940 when he moved to Salt Lake City where he worked for the Salt Lake Furniture Co. as a finisher and repairhan. He moved to Sunset in 1957 and then to Layton in 1961 where he has resided since. He has been employed at Hill Air Force Base as an electrician until his retirement. He married Gwenevere Clark on June 16, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the Layton 29th Ward. He had served in the bishopric of the Layton 3rd Ward, had served in the Sunday School presidency. He was active in the 29th Ward High Pnest Group at the time of his death. He had his own insurance agency pnor to World War II, worked at Hill Air Force Base during the war, and then he operated a Surplus Sales until his retirement.
