SILL and Miss Gibson both lived on what is now the Hill Field Road near the Layton Hills Mall. The Sill farm bordered the Gibson property. A biographical sketch of Layton Elementarys first teachers is a representative way of recognizing the hundreds of educators that have taught in this school during the past 82 years. JOSEPH ALBERT SILL VIOLA MAY GIBSON Garland and Beaver River City. He was the principal of the commercial department of ten children. Mr. Sill was a promoter and organizer of the Federal Farm Organization. He managed the first flowing well devices used in Davis County. He operated and owned a farm, an apple orchard and a dry farm.
