Does that mean that the things in the past are not popular? In our day and age it seems we need an opinion poll to sec where things stand. News media seem to be full of editorials giving debate, pro and con, on any subject or issue. Still existing however, in the hearts of mankind, is a better feeling of giving and getting. Everyone has someone that they would rather please and care for, to see the joy and happiness it brings to them and in their lives. In the festival of trees this year a group of people designed a tree around the compassionate theme of the tragedy of the five girls that suffered in the trunk of their car. The design that they used were ceramic dolls that were created in the image of the girls. It also contained a book that told about each of their lives. A man named John Huntsman bought the five thousand dollar tree and gave the dolls and books to each of the families. I can't imagine how much joy he brought into their homes and hearts. What an influence this one man made to our generation, lie is an example for us and the lives to come. We might not have five thousand dollars to help someone in need but I am sure that any little act or deed of is nothing like Christmas to bring you your Mom and Dad closer together. 1 think it's just the thought of peace that does it, the thought of the new season coming and the thought of thinking about others and not yourself. Their What is Christmas? t kindness would help any lonely or depressed person. Maybe giving is old fashion but in my heart and in yours it should always and forever be popular. Christmas is a time to get ride of all of the worries you have in your life and relax. Take it slow because it only comes once a year and when it is gone you have to wait 12 more months for it to come back again. Mrs. Liddell grew up in Eloise Liddell By:Anna Osmond & Lucas Jones Just a few decades ago a young girl of 14 years set a goal to become the best speech and drama teacher ever to exist. With this dream in mind, she graduated from Delta High Delta, Utah, where she set trends in water sports, and enjoyed playing sparky with mint life savers. She competed for ten years, eight of which have been at Manti High. She puts in a tremendous amount of work every year doing speech and drama tournaments as well as a school musical. Along w ith all this, she also finds time to teach three English classes every day. I love taking English from Mrs. Liddell. Whenever I hear her giggle it puts me in a humorous by doing the in Drama interpratations and did orations in catagory speech. good mood! commented Anjanae Fucntes. In between years of Mrs. Liddell has taught out to spend with her six teaching, Mrs. Liddell took time children. She is mom to five boys, one girl, and grandma to one grandaughtcr. Mike Liddell had the following remarks, "Although my mom is ahmish and can't work a computer, I still love her. She is one of my best friends. I talk to her between every class hour. 'Mom' in my vocabulary', is difinatly a dollar word. I like to see students enter my classroom shy, and by the end of the year be able to express themselves, try new things, and win medals! replied Mrs, Liddell when asked what she liked most about her job, I think it's as much fun for me as it is for the kids. Knowing Mrs. Liddell and being in advanced speech and drama has made us love and appreciate her We're thankfull for the time and effort she spends helping everyone prepare for an upcoming event, the confidence she installs in us all, and her stories that brightens all of our days. She truly deserves the honor of being this edition's teacher feature. |
