Well, the answer is really very simple. world-wid- e Recently at Green Ris er High School, the buzz around the hallways is that of "Olympic proportions. ; That's right, even here in our snug little nook tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, even we are infused with a dose of state, country and even allo- cated approximately 57,000 tickets to various Olympic events. These tickets were dispersed in proportion to the school district's percentage of total student enrollment Unfortunately even with these generous donations, there were not enough tickets for every student, or even most of the stu Jet Set Sports and the Salt Lake Games 2u02 License Plate sales have donated large amounts of money to purchase the expensive tickets. Utah dents, in Utah to attend this event. These few tickets, that w e were fortunate enough to receive, would be given only to a lucky few. Here at GRHS these few students would be chosen at random in a school-wid- e drawing. On a lighter note, we would like to congratulate the ticket winners, and hope that this rare occasion will have a lasting impression on them, for the rest of their lives. STUDENTS OF THE WEEK i";;r)nr,TJiw ; I J3aaiE3i!Hgaunu C Chelsea Beason Kendall Bird Chelsea Benson is the daughter of Jaren and Annette Benson of Ferron. Chelsea likes reading and is a good, dedicated student. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and has maintained good grades her whole life. Chelsea plays the flute and piano. She also sings and is in the San Rafael Junior High Choir. She is in 9th grade and as any other teenage girl she likes to hang out or be with her friends. Fourteen year old, Kendall Bird, son of Evelyn and Rick Bird of Cleveland, has been named as Student of the Week. Kendalls favorite classes at Canyon Mew are seminary and science, where he also enjoys participating in the Quiz Bowl, and wrestling. He is a captain of the wrestling team this year. Outside of school his interests are camping and scouting. He plans to become an Eagle Scout in the near future. Kendalls goals are to go on a LDS mission and become a pyroteehnician or a FBI agent. Kendall wants to grow up to Kelsey Swalberg Chosen as Student of the Week i? Kelsey Swalberg, the daughter of Eugene and Laurie Swalberg of Green River. Kelsey maintains a GPA of 40 at Green River High where her favorite classes are chemistry and math. She also participates in volleyball basketball and school plays. Her hobbies and interests outside of school are being with friends and family, reading, and playing volleyball Kelseys future plans are to go to college, get married and have a family. Brandon Singleton ClC0itrcrJKiHQtej Brandon Singleton is a 9th grade student at San Rafael Junior High. He is the son of Kyle and Kathy Singleton of Ferron. He has two sisters and one younger brother. Brandon is a good student and has a 4.0 GPA. He has played the piano for nearly seven years. He plays the trumpet in band and jazz band. Brandon also plays taps for the American Legion at the graveside service for veterans who have passed away. Brandon enjoys reading and playing sports, especially basketbalL He Wants to be a computer programmer or a lawyer when he grows up. Kelsey Bree Farnsworth Chosen as Student of the Week is Kelsey Bree Farnsw'orth, daughter of Kelly and Paige Fhrnsworth of Orangeville. ! Kelseys favorite food are Chinese food and macaroni and cheese. She likes the color pink best. Her favorite book is Ramona. She enjoys watching the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas. - Her many hobbies include collecting rocks and seashells, riding horses, and participating in sports of all kinds. Kelseys favorite classes at school are science and P.E. ; She not only loves her family, but Kelsey loves animals, too. i i p) When she grows up she wants to be a vet and doctor. Kan Cunningham class is Spanish. Her interests outside of are shopping, dancing, school and drawing and making her parents proud of her. She is the daughter of David and Sheila Palmer. Sara says that pizza is her favorite food. She likes the color best. Redwall is her favorite blue best. She likes black as her favorite color. Where the Red Fern Grows is her favorite reading. The Last Dance is her favorite movie. Math is her favorite part about school. Hobbies outside of school are playing with friends and scrapbooking. When she grows up she wants to be a clothing designer. Dolphins are what Whitney Gillins named student of the week.
