Show 12 February 2002 Emery County Chamber of Commerce Business of Phe fear Homegrown Success Hometown Market named Business of the Year Hometown Market previously know as Thrif-- T Market in Huntington was seleeted as the Business of Year by the Emery County Chamber of Commeree during the ' reeent Installation and Awards Program. Tom Potter, store owner, gave his store a completely new look last year and the stores bright atmosphere and friendly employees has been a hit with customers. During their grand reopening in August the store celebrated its new look and improvements with specials and giveaways. Former Huntington Mayor YorneH Rowley said during the August reopening ceremony, It has boon a pleasure to watch your store grow, thanks for using Huntington to grow in." Bret (lallacher of Associated Foods said There are more than (500 Associated grocery stores, most of them are hometown markets like this. It is a perfect Marcey Wilson example of the stores that will survive. I have heard a little about the history of the store, and you just dont hear stories like that with the supereenters. I appreciate the Potter family. Store owner, Tom Potter said, I would like to thank my wife and kids for their support as we have transitioned and developed. One day as we pulled up to the store son said, Hey, my at Daddy were your house. It really has been my house. I love Huntington and we couldnt have done everything w e have without the groat staff we have here at the store. They arc great people to work with. I would like to thank my grandparents for the opportunity Ive been given with the store and for teaching me to work, said Potter.
