KJH FESTIVAL COMING Kaysville Junior High School's band members stick to it as they rehearse for upcoming fine arts festival that will feature performances from all school musical THE groups. Invited communities are Kas-ville- . Fruit Heights and Farmington. All. PERFORMING musical groups will he featured May 20 Irom p.m. at K.nsville 0 Jr. High. The groups include the bands directed by Keith Brimhall; both choirs directed by Evan Allred, and the strings and orcnestra directed by Richard Marsden; solos and ensembles from students at the junior high will also participate. Any vocalists, instrumentalists or pianists from the three communities are invited to participate. They should con tact one of the above mentioned directors at Kaysville Jr. High. Each private teacher is encouraged to enter their top two students. Davis county high schools came out shining brightly in the recent all area high school music competition held at BYU in Provo, including the first two band positions. OF 41 HIGH schools rank ed, Davis High came in third, Woods Cross, fifth, and View-moninth based on a point grading system. Band, piano, string and choral competition was included. Woods Cross High came in first in band while Davis High scored in second place. Davis also placed third in string competition. Woods Cross fifth in piano and Viewmont sixth in vocal; Clearfield ninth and Bountiful tenth in that category. Layton Awaits Scout-O-Ram-a One of the biggest Boy Scout of America activities : evei held will take place Saturday from 10a.m. until 3 p.m. in the 1 .ay ton High School gymnasium. Scouts from the Fran-- . cis Peak, the I.akeview and the Gateway Districts of the BSA a ill hold a Scout-Rama. 0 SKILLS, crafts, games, de monstrations and displays will be set dp. Cubs, Scouts, Varsity scouts and explorers from North Davis County will be participating. Hundreds of young people and their leaders are involved in this super scouting activity. THE PUBLIC is invited to attend and to see the boy scout program in action. Tickets sell for $1 per person. The troop selling the tickets and the individual boy receives part of the ticket price back to be used for local scout projects. The remaining price of the ticket is used to pay the expenses of the a and to assist with the general scouting program. dmg Scout-O-Ram- CHS Readies Voting By SI E Sill PE Voting for junior and senior class officers took place after a morning nominating assembly Thursday at Clearfield High School. Through this voting finalists for both classes were picked. FOR THE IW2-8year Bill Wilcox and Robert Sherwood will compete for senior class president and John Grotsky and Tracv Potter are against 3 each other for the junior class position as president. For the senior class in the vice president position Lori Horspool and Jeannine Saunders finaled. Finalists for junior class are Judy Blalock and Corinne Chandler. JEANNINE Urie and Judy Tay lor w ill compete for senior class secretary w ith Teri Tshi-m- a and Nicki Wood as junior class secretary. The student council was chosen with the preliminary voting. For the senior class, council members will include Patti Gardner, Shirty Goodrich, Lisa Keller, Wendy Monroe, and Patricia Reed. THE JUNIOR class council is Deana Thayne, Randy Nicholas, Allyson Nichigima, Shelva McCrary and Stacy Nelson. The final voting for senior and junior class president, vice president and secretary will take place Friday. April 30.
