Show I i WEEKLY f REFLEX-DA- VIS NEWS JOURNAL, NORTH DAVIS LEADER, APRIL 8, 1982 Kiwanis Club Meet SOCIETY The Kiwanis Club of Layton met at the Capistrano Restaurant April 3 and heard Harry Woodward, immediate past president of the club and Layton civic leader, speak about his experiences as a child and young man which led to his becoming an aircraft sheet metal shop foreman at Hill AFB. Mr. Woodward retired from the latter post recently. MR. WOODW ARD grew up during the depression years as a black youth in a black neighborhood at Steelton, Penn. He reminisced about the difficulties and challenges of those times and about the problems associated with big city slums. MRS. JUDI B. SLUSSER Garden Wedding MR. AND MRS. CRAIG Judith L. Beene became the bride of J. Michael Slusser in a ceremony performed April 3, 1982 in the garden of the couples future home in Arlington, Texas. SHEFFIELD Wed In SL Temple M 3 yji March 19, 1982 was the wedding day of Miriam Carter and Craig Sheffield. They were wed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple with President A. Ray Curtis officiating. THE BRIDE is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Carter of Ogden. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wells of Layton. A wedding breakfast was held on Wasatch Dr. in Layton and the reception was held in Ogden. blouses. Their bouquets were red roses. Kevin Kunz was the best man. MIRIAM GRADUATED from Bonniville High School and has an associate degree from the Weber State College School of Nursing. Craig gra- duated from Layton High School and currently attends the U. of U. He served in the armed forces for two years beginning just as World War II drew to a close and became an aircraft sheet metal worker after trying several other jobs following his discharge from the military. SHE WAS born to Alfred and Emma (Allphen) Graves, in Gray County, Kansas, April 13, 1902. They moved to Western Kansas in a covered wagon when she was 15 years old. She had 14 brothers and sisters, eight of which are still living. She was married to Paul M. Fergeson, Sept. 18, 1920 in Hugaton, Kansas. They were later sealed in the Ogden Temple. The bridesmaid was dressed the same only in a dusty rose colored gown. Best man duties were performed by Kevin Petersen Brad Livingston and Flint Jones were the ushers. BOTH ATTENDED Clearfield High. They will make their home in Clearfield. They have chosen Sept. 12 as their wedding date. The wedding will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Cathedral in Salt Lake City.
