Payton, 88, of 102 E. 5200 S., Washington Terrace died Sunday, March 28, 1982 in St. Benedicts Hospital. SHE WAS born March 11, 1894 in Kaysville, a daughter of Levi and Agnes Higgs Webster. She married D. H. Bateman on Jan. 1, 1916 in Ogden. They were later divorced. the Utah Daughters of Pioneers Camp 44. SHE HAD worked at the Troy Laundry, Ogden Meat Packing Company, and the Defense Depot in Ogden, retiring in 1964. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Erma Toorman of Ogden; Mrs. Blanche Allred, Richmond, Utah; one stepson, Glen 0. Payton, Ogden; one Mrs. Ruth r, SHE MARRIED J O. Payton on June 8, 1931 in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He died in 1976. She had been an active member of the Ogden 22nd and 32nd wards where she had been a member of the Relief Society and Visiting Teacher for many years. She had been a member of the 22nd Ward Choir. She was a member of r, Edgren of Pleasanton. Calif. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Flow ers Mortuary in Ogden with Bishop Niles J. Griffin of the Washington Terrace 10th Ward officiating. BURIAL was in the Ogden City Cemetery, np Rites Held Thurs. SHE WAS born Aug. 15, 1924 in Fairview, Wyo., a daughter of Gilbert M. and Eliza Jones Turner. On Aug. 18, 1941 she married Dean C. Bruce in Paris, Ida. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She had been employed as a supervisor for school lunches at the Layton Elementary School. SURVIVING are her husband of Layton; three sons and one daughter, Rick D. Bruce, Reg T. Bruce, Keri D. Bruce, all of Layton; Mrs. Evan (Annette) Holley, Clearfield; 10 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters, Duane Turner, San Gabriel, Calif.; Dutch Turner, Lake Tahoe, Nev.; Mrs. Lavon SHE WAS reared in Fair-vieand later lived in Smoot, Wyo., Afton, Wyo., and California. For the past 21 years, she had resided in Layton. She attended schools in Afton and Fairview, Wyo. Erickson, Afton, Wyo.; Mrs. Orson (Louise) Johnson, Auburn, Wyo.; Mrs. Aria Orsatti, Phoenix, Ariz. SHE WAS a member of the 10th LDS Ward. She had been Relief Society president, Young Women's president, Primary president and a teacher in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. ary. MRS. JENSEN was born Sept. 18, 1899 in Kaysville, a daughter of George Wallace and and one Nettie Jane Batber Wilcox. Schiller Succumbs At 60 Merrill Edward Schiller. 60, of 1931 N. 1575 W Layton died Tuesday, March 30, 1982 in the St. Benedicts Hospital in Ogden. HE WAS born June 3, 1921 in Shoshone, Ida., a son of John Edward and Sybil Merrill Schiller. On April 25, 1948, he married Gwenna Fae Reinhold in Elko, Nev. HE WAS an aircraft mechanical foreman at Hill Air Force Base until his retirement in August of 1980. He was reared in Shoshone and Rupert, Ida. He had lived in California and Idaho Falls, Ida. before moving to Layton 15 years ago. HE ATTENDED schools in Shoshone and Rupert, Ida. and Merced, Calif. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. , SURVIVING are his widow of Layton; two sons and one daughter, Frederick Edward Schiller and James Robert Schiller, both of Salt Lake Cit-y- ; Janette Lee Schiller, Logan; one grandchild; one brother and one sister, John Robert Schiller, Bellevue, Wash, and Mrs. Vernon (Catherine) Lemming, Pocatello, Ida. He has been employed at Smiths Food King in Clearfield, for the past three years. Dewitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Dewitt of 1587 W. 1800 N Clinton, returned recently from his LDS mission to South Carolina. She w as employed as a practical nurse for a number of years and has been doing home nursing the past five vears. SHE HAS resided in Colorado and Utah and is the mother of four children. Davis High School and attended Weber College Prior to returning home, she enjoyed a tour of Japan with her parents, and sisters, Julie and Jacki, for two weeks.
