ACCORDING to the study, a teacher who began teaching in the Davis School District in 1974 would have received a starting salary of $7,340. A small surprise to some people is their opponent for the title battle. Many felt in preseason that the Bonneville Lakers would be the team to beat, but in recent weeks they have faded back into the pack in third place. Everyone knew that Sky View had a lot of talented people back from last season but not many outside of Cache Valley expected them to be undefeated going ' they came impressive an up with 20-- 0 win over1 Roy to secure their league record at Layton enters the contest with a record with their only blemish being a narrow defeat to Bonneville a few games back. This club has a lot of pride and many counted them out this season since they lost almost all of their players from their state championship club. But there are enough left to give Layton a strong club, all they needed was time and experience and since getting those things they have been getting better each game. 3-- 1 26-1- win would give them the title. If Layton wins that would leave them in a tie with Layton going into state as the number one team due A SKY View SKI VIEW has some good size up front in the form of Kent Balls, who goes 65 and 245 pounds, to create some huge holes but it has been the passing of quarterback Brad Pond that has been the big play for the Bobcats. When the ball goes up, Pond looks for Todd Sadler or Brad Merrill. If the Lancers have to stop the pass to win then Sky View must definitely stop the running attack of the Layton crew to win. Dave Burke, Mark Vigil and Kurt Gallegos are as fine a trio of running backs as anywhere in the entire state. These three, with a lot of help from the folks up front, have run wild all year. A week ago Gallegos enjoyed a great day which was highlighted by a 90 yard kickoff return for a score. Burke has been their main threat all season with several games well over 100 yards and Vigil gives them the triple threat with his speed and throwing arm. 5W if&c ,9 , fa - FARMINGTON A Sunset girl who led Davis County and Salt Lake City police on a wild chase before the mobile home she was driving collided with a utility pole has pleaded guilty to four traffic charges THE GIRL pleaded guilty to joy riding, destruction of property, reckless driving and failure to stop at the command of a police officer.
