Sally Morgan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Morgan, has accepted an LDS mission call to serve in the Pittsburg, Pa. Mission. Miss Morgan is prominent in local Tanner. Also attending the dinner was Miss Sherene Henniger, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Henniger. She is attending the U. of U. The occasion for the dinner party was the birthday celebration for Sherene. Several Layton girls who are attending the U. of U. have been accepted into sororities at the school. Kristie Van Kampen joined Alpha Chi Omega; Dana Cowley joined Kappa Kappa Gamma and Sherene Henniger of St. Anthony, Ida, granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Noall Z. Tanner, joined Delta Gamma. Mrs. Jim (Charlene) King was the guest of honor at a baby shower given by her mother-in-laand her sister-in-laMarla King. Mrs. King expects her baby within the working with the Davis School month. The symphony and chorus also recorded Let Me Be Remembered ELDER LAW Called To Serve LDS Mission Receives Mission Call Elder David C. Hill has accepted a mission call to the Guatemala Guatemala City LDS Mission. His farewell was held Sept. 23 in the Kaysville First LDS Ward. He will enter the Mission Training Center in Provo on Oct. A farewell will be held Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. in the Fruit Heights chapel for Perry Newell Law, who has been called to serve in the Lansing Michigan Mission. He is the son of Newell J. and Noreene Phister Law. He will leave Oct. 11 for the Mission training center. 11. HE GRADUATED from Davis High where he was active in music, was an honor student and a member of the National Honor Society. He has been active in his church function and has received his Duty To God award. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis L. Hill, 95 South 300 West, Kaysville. np PERRY graduated from Davis High as an honor student and a member of the Honor Society. He is also a graduate of the Davis Seminary. Perry also attended the U. of U. this past year on a scholarship in engineering. He is presently working for Happijac in Layton. which was used in the production Tall Tom Jefferson" presented in Kaysville in February of 1976. This recording will also be used on the Paul Dunn Show. The recording was also presented during the National Music Educators Convention at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City in March 1977 by the Kaysville children. THE MORMON Youth Symphony is comprised of 100 members in the symphony and 300 members in the chorus between the ages of 18 and 30. They are an inspirational group and Mr. and Mrs. Brough are thrilled with them recording these two pieces of music which were written by the noted New York Musician Ruth Roberts, np Mrs. Stirling (Julia) Thornley, Mrs. Dale music circles and has been District instructing young people in string instruments. The annual Kiwanis Club opening fall barbecue was held last Saturday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Noall Z. Tanner. Nearly 60 club members and guests attended the activity. Jerry Willey was installed as the new president. g Bruce Barton is the Kiwanis president. William Meeks, the district governor of the Kiwanis Clubs, was at the meeting to install the new officers. Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Henniger and son, Zeke of St. Anthony, Ida. and Karl Lewis of Ashton, Ida. were Sunday guests of Dr. and Mrs. Noall Z. out-goin- party last Wednesday at her home..fifteen friends enjoyed games and refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. David R. Sill have returned home from a two week vacation to Chula Vista, Calif, where they visited at the home of Mrs. Sills parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Easier. They were met in California by their young daughter, Natalie, who has been staying with her grandparents in Chula Vista for the past two weeks. Later in the week, Mrs. Easier traveled to Layton to stay with the Sills for a few days. Faculty members of Crest-vieElementary School surprised the school principal, Mr. Bullock, Friday artemoon with a short party in honor of the arrival of Mr. Bullocks new baby. The Layton 10th LDS Ward held a special ward dinner Saturday even- ing. All food was homemade and sold for the reasonable price of ten cents a serving. Miss Julie Walton of Moab visited at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Willis Walton last week. Miss Walton is employed as a park ranger at Arches National Park. While she was in Layton, the family had a steakfry and picnic. Those who attended included Mr. and Mrs. Guy Black and their children; John and Linda Gallegos and their children. Bible Verse Rites Are Held Funeral services were held Friday at 12 noon for Christie Sanders Gaddie, 88, of Salt Lake City who died in a local hospital on Sept. 26, 1979. She was a former resident of Davis County. SHE WAS bom Jan. 29, 1891 in Farmington, the daughter of David Albert and Mary Alice Van Fleet. She was married to Stanley William Gaddie, May 5, 1908, in St. Anthony, Ida. He died in January of 1963. She was a member of the LDS Church.
