Larry Green played well the entire season and was Craig Campbell had a super tournament and was named to the team. All-Sta- e, IT WOULDNT take much to poll the sportswriters and coaches for an team. The colleges do it after each one of their tournaments, so why cant the high schools. Im not bringing this up for Dale Ohlson, his case isnt that unique. Each year a player has a super tournament and all of a sudden hes and yet other super players are not. AND IT WILL all be due to $19,000 in federal anti- recession funds recently received by the city to upgrade and renovate facilities at the municipal swimming pool. The remodeling project will include resurfacing the bottom of the pool and replacement of tile in the shower and locker areas, said City Administrator Randall Heaps. WEVE HAD complaints in the past about the chipped concrete and rundown condition of the shower and locker facilities, said Heaps. Soccer By DAVE WIGHAM About 10 years ago Hugh Wigham decided to start soccer in the Bountiful area. First he formed an adult team which was comprised of mainly high school players with a sprinkling of older players with European backgrounds. THEN HE decided the future of soccer in Bountiful would be with a youth program, so he formed some youth teams and entered the Salt Lake League. then the soccer program in the area has Since enlarged and improved each year. Local high schools benefited from this youth movement, as Bountiful High took State a couple of years in a row with graduates from the youth program. LAST YEAR playing with mainly graduates from the youth teams, Viewmont finished second in the State. This year due to the amount of kids interested in playing soccer, the sponsors, along with Mr. Wigham, decided to form their own league and get out of the Salt Lake league. THIS NEW league, South Davis Soccer League, held two signup days and a total of 550 kids turned up to play the sport this season. This league latest a month ago at the Davis Lanes. He bowled a triplicate series of 154. A triplicate series is three games with the exact same score. FOR THIS achievement, Mr. Empey was awarded the American Bowling Congress (ABC) Triplicate Award patch. The Ogden Bowling Association presented him with an inscribed Parker pen.
