Lupus fun run deemed success Anna-bell- a. MAPLETO- N- The children of Dick and Rose Robertson recently announced the celebration of their parents 50th wedding anniversary. A family dinner was held at the Oak Crest Inn on July 18. 1998. The couple were married July 24, 1949, in Evanston. WY. Their marriage was later solem-- . mzed in the Manti LDS Temple. t The are the parents of five children: Mrs. Mary Jane Aagard, daughter of Kim and Anna Aagard, Mor- Wayne (Dixie) Nielsen, Valparaiso, IN; Mrs. Charles (LaRee) Higginson, Salem; Mrs. Daniel (Peggy) Howell, DeeRay (Debbie) Robertson, all of Vernal; Ronnie J. PLEASAN- T- Organizers of the first Lupus Fun k held during Hub City Days were pleased with the large number of participants who enthusiastically came to join the event this year. Participants included entire families, seniors, young children, women and even a few dogs who took their owners for a walk. About 60 people chose to get up early and join in the 7 a.m. event. Lupus is a disease that has no cure yet. About 18 percent of the participants disclosed to organizers they were Lupus victims and 1 percent of the walkers indicated they knew someone with Lupus and were glad to help. All participants seemed pleased that the city wa swilling to support the worthy cause. Participants received a free and juice when they crossed the finish line.
