This years theme is "Celebrating Under the Horseshoe. " The free concert is slated for 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 24; the old time gospel music revival is Sunday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the City Park. Pioneer Days activities will continue on Thursday, July 23, softball tourwith a junior co-e- d nament from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 5 Contact Amy or Joe, for more information. Day Car Show will be held Saturday, July 25. Registration will take place from 8 a.m to noon, Saturday, with prizes awarded at 4 p.m. Cars may be registered for a fee on the day of the show, preregistered by mail or by calling Cynthia Allred, PO Box 22, Spring City, UT 84662, (435) 462-271- 7. Each entry will receive a commemorative hat and dash plaque. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day with special drawings held at 4 p.m., during the announcement of winners. Trophies will be awarded for first and second place for most standard categories. Special classes such as a tractor class, adult and youth model mm-car class i ? n Demolition Derby, rodeo top list of Fairview events and a horse drawn class have been added. Prizes to be awarded include Mayors Choice, Spring City Marshals Choice, Spring City Royalty Choice, Under Construction, Peoples Choice and Longest Distance Traveled. The event is organized and sponsored by Spring City Lions Club and Spring City r. Activities conclude Saturday, softball July 25, with a co-e- d tournament at 7 a.m., at the Ball Park; Stonequarry Qranc Cross Country mountain bike race at 9 a.m. and horseshoe tournament at 10 a.m. at the Lions Park. The fourteenth annual demolition derby will be held at 7 p.m. at the Rodeo Grounds followed by fireworks at 10 a.m. Lee R. Contact 427-933- 6, 427-502- 5, 427-929- Gordon, Ethel Sorensen named grand marshals for 24th parade SPRING CIT- Y- Gorden and Ethel Sorensen have been selected as grand marshals for the annual Spring City Pioneer Days Parade to be held at 10 a.m., Together they have served a Chicago LDS Mission from 1989 to 1991 and have been temple ordinance workers since 1991. Friday, July 24. Gorden was bom in the Spring City home that he still lives in 73 years ago. Ethel was bom in Manti. They have been married for 50 years and are the parents of four boys and two girls, and have 20 grandchildren. Gorden was the postmaster in town for 20 years and retired in 1989. He was a dairy farmer for 32 years and hauled milk to Mt. Pleasant for 23 years. He has served as president of the Senior Citizen organization since 1991. Ethel has and is a home maker. As a new attraction this year specialty classes which include tractors, adult and youth car models and a horse drawn class have been added to expand the show.
