Show Sanpete women named to state committee SALT LAKE CIT- Y- DeAnna Hansen, wife of Fairview Mayor Gerald Hansen, was elected chairman and Ida O. Donaldson, Moroni, wife of Sanpete County Commissioner Newton Donaldson of Moroni, was named of the Sanpete County First Ladies for Drug-FreYouth at a luncheon held on Monday, May 12, at the Governors Mansion. At the luncheon meeting, Mrs. vice-chairm- e Colleen Bangerter asked each ,"3 1 Mrs. Bangerter would like to have a network of first ladies to coordinate with her in their individual communities and to have a special representative from their region be her contact person. This network would include other areas of concern that relate to women or family issues. Pleasant Horseshoe Pitchers MT. 2-- 3-- Association hosted the Memorial Day Open Tournament here on May 24. Two tournaments were held and nine adults and four junior players competed. Four teams pitched in the doubles tournament with Robert Tibbs and Gary Gilbert taking first. Other winners in order included Bud Schardine and Vernile Shelley; 2 0-- 2-- 0-- Pleasant. First place winners in each class received trophies. The next sanctioned tournament scheduled for Mt. Pleasant will be held July 12 and will begin at 11 a. m. for juniors and at noon for adults according to Donald Howell, association president. Reed Lowe and Tuff Moles; Don Howell and Dawn Howell. PLEASANT Additions are being made to the Sanpete War Memorial located in front of the old armory on Main and State Street to include veterans of two more eras, The Blackhawk War and the Mormon Batallion. About 900 names are being added to Ruel Mower according spokesman. Mower encourages information anyone having regarding names missed either on the original engravings or the ones now being completed to contact Bert Ruesch or Mt. Pleasant City by Oct. 1, 1986. Mower said the monument has been built by volunteer labor and donations and about $800 is still needed to cover the cost of materials. Anyone wishing to donate to the memorial should mail their contributions to Vic Rasmussen, Fountaain Green, or Bert Ruesch, Mt. Pleasant. Those that have made contributions are appreciated, Mower said. Conference planned for singles MANTI Plans are underway for the Second Annual Singles Conference to be held in conjuction with the Mormon Miracle Pageant on July 11, 12, and 13. All singles throughout the state of Utah are welcome to attend with special emphasis on those residing in Central and Southern Utah. The event is sponsored by the Manti Regional Singles Committee. The conference begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 11, at Snow College with registration at the Institute building.
