Show Fountain Green council hears waterline progress By Jessie Oldroyd GREE- N- The FOUNTAIN Council meeting was held Wednesday evening, May 2 in the City Hall, with Mayor Pro tempore, Tom Davis conducting. Items of business included: the progress of the new culinary water line on Main Street, the work being done by the Hone Lions hear about floods FOUNTAIN GREE- N- The Lions Club hosted a free movie presented by the U. S. Forest Service and Construction of Company Springville. This new line is a necessity due to the fact that the old pipes have become corroded, worn out, leaks occur that require a lot of attention and fixing, and expense to the city. Also the fact that the State is planning to lay new asphalt on Main Street, and the water line must be in before the asphalt is laid. The drainage system is being constructed by the United Enterprises of Logan, and is proving a great success, with most homes in the north and west part of town where the owners have been so plagued by having water in their basements, now being dried out. The west areas are being drained into the County gravel pit south of town, and the north line draining into the creek. The Council agreed to have the drainage company do five more blocks, hopefully to get all the ground water controlled. The Council has made application for a match-gran- t for a hand-helradio and a pager for emergency use The pasture street bids and notice were discussed. The Council approved donation to the ambulance fund for the EMTs to be $525 per year.
