Glen Saunders of Nancy Burningham the secretary to the three county commissioners. IN SOME of our sister counties each commissioner has an administrative assistant to take part of the load off the secretary. Nancy carries the whole load and serves as both administrative assistant and secretary to the three commissioners. He went on to say, I have never worked with anyone who is more cooperative, accommodating and efficient than Nancy. NANCY Burningham is the smiling lady behind the desk at the commissioners office. Many people in Davis County have talked with her in person or on the phone during the 12 years she has served in that office. During that time she has served under nine commissioners. She moved to that position from personnel. According to Nancy, working with people is what makes the job so interesting. She deals with the general public and other government agencies. When she started with the county there were about 140 county employees. Now there are about 500. She has also been there to see computers used to speed things up. When I started here, we didnt have computers and even payroll checks were typed up one by one on a typewriter. UNDERSTANDABLY, after spending the day inside behind a desk, she likes to spend her leisure time outside. She likes to jog, bowl, ski and work in the yard. She has two children Dan, 20 and Leslie 23. Her husband teaches history and law at Viewmont. Nancy is also president of the Davis County Ladies Night Golf Association who meet Monday nights at Davis Park. When that group started eight years ago there were 24 members. This year there will be about 140. She also plays at . Valley View on Thursday night.
