Ar AIR I O R C E officials in Washington, D.C. announced that the president has approved and intends to nominate to the Senate for appointment to the grade of brigadier general, U.S, Air Force, Col. James F. Record. I'm very pleased at being selected for this promotion, Record said. "I'm looking forward to the challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead." COLONEL Record was born Sept. 6, 1938 in Forest, Ind. He Wheat Signup Ends March 1 In an effort to control excess crop supplies and maintain a better balance between supply and demand, the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, on Oct. 15, began accepting applications for the 1985 wheat and feed grain acreage reduction program. The signup period ends March 1. FARMERS who meet the acreage reduction requirements will be eligible to receive price support loans and target price protection, in addition to land diversion 0-- 0-- rt 0-- sources. IN JULY 1975, he was selected as a research associate at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs in Austin, Tex. He went on from there a year later to the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Colonel Record was assigned in June 1977 to Moody Air Force Base, Ga., as the 347th Tactical Fighter Wing chief of safety. In 1970 he was selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America. Colonel Record has logged more than 5,600 flying hours 1,1 00 of them during 616 combat missions over Southeast Asia. His military decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross with two oak leaf clusters, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Air Medal with 27 oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal. The percentage is the amount required to raise the national average price received by all producers for shorn wool in 1984 up to the support prices of $ .65 a pound. Pulled wool will continue to be supported at a level comparable to the support price for shorn wool through payments on unshorn lambs. will in- centive payments, original sales slips from shorn wool and unshorn lamb marketings must be presented to our office.
