Show Sunday The Real Record on Clear Air and Pure Water The struggle to save our natural resources is a popular crusade today, but when Senator Frank E. Moss first spoke out on the danger of air and waterpollution, his was a lonely voice. He is one of the few leaders who recognized the problem and workedto clean up our environment. Frank E. Moss has been a sponsor of every major air and waterpollution contro! bill in the last ten years. 1970 National Air Standards Act 1967 Air Quality Act 1965 Motor Vehicles Pollution Amendments to Clean Air Act 1963 Clean Air Act 1961 Water Pollution Control Act Amendments 1965 Water Quality Act 1966 Clean Water Restoration Act Burton voted NO on the Clean Air Act. Mr. Burton missed nearly 50% — 10 out of 20 votes on air and water pollution control. 1969 Water Quality Improvement Act The measures listed above have established basic programs to clean up air and water and prevent further pollution. BUT THE JOB HAS JUST BEEN STARTED Because many in Congress were indifferent to this crisis and did not support men like Moss, programs did not get underway soon enough to keep up with the pollution caused by our increase in population and production of material goods. If you want clean air and water, you must keep in the Senate men whose records of performance demonstrate the commitment and the energy it will require to finish this tremen dous job.
