Weber High, who claimed the Region One title with a thrilling playoff victory over Roy, placed two girls on the first team while Roy placed four girls on both first and second teams combined. This week the respective Region One teams are battling in the slate tournament with the state champion to be declared by Thursday. The first round of the tourney is being played at schools throughout the slate with the remainder ot the tourney at West all-sta- High School. Weber and in the spring participates on the track team. Mae isn t one to t many sporting events pass her by. She also runs track and gels involved in k-- numerous Receiving first team honors for the Warriors were Kristen Frazier and Mae Miya, two -- seniors who were members of last year's slate championship squad. The region title this past season was their first region championship since coming to Weber. Caroline is known around the league for her fierce spikes and amazing team play. Karleen Pearl of Clearfield choice. was another first-tea-- Roy Peart is a senior at Clearfield from Sunset, Utah. Karleen is also known for her fine basketball talent and is expected to give Clearfield a tough name to beat tins winter on the hardwoods. DENISE KRUGER BsAnn Fravu stars for junior coffsge DeAnn Frew, a 5-- 7 freshman ar at Snow College, is a member of the Women's ICAC Volleyball Cham- pionship' team. The Snow Badgers, the first team in the history of the Women ICAC Volleyball to be ranked nationally, put their seventh in the nation ranking on the line last weekend against three Arizona teams in the Regional playoff in teammates. DeAnn is kicking forward to a berth on the National Volleyball Tournament in Miami, Florida, She hopes to be November with Snow as one of the 200 competing teams.
